Re: Terrible migraines and pregnancy?
I had an extremely horrific migraine in my 2nd trimester & saw my OB. She said they are common bc of the increase of blood flowing through the body. They gave me the OK to take 2 motrin & go home & rest. Once I did that, it went away & never returned.
Feel better

Re: Terrible migraines and pregnancy?
I was getting a lot of headaches right around the time I got my BFP and now at just under 14 weeks, I have been getting one everyday for the last few days. I have taken 2 Tylenol and they go away but they have been returning the next day.

This is exactly how it has been for me...i am trying to not take Tylenol at all, but I have had to. I just feel like it never really goes away, always a dull pain if not debilitaing pain...the joys of becoming a mommy!!!

Re: Terrible migraines and pregnancy?
I suffer from chronic migraines and they did not go away during pregnancy as I had hoped.
They were especially horrific weeks 9-14. I take Excedrin Tension Headache. It must be the Tension one NOT the Extra Strength or migraine one because those contain aspirin. Excedrin Tension is really just Tylenol (acetaminophen) and caffeine. Just don't get into the habit of taking it too often because you can develop rebound headaches especially due to caffeine withdrawl.
If it's really bad, talk to your doctor and/or see a neurologist. Mine got so bad (every day and 8-9's on the pain scale) that i was put on a short course of steroids and that really helped.

Re: Terrible migraines and pregnancy?
I get them as well, although not quite as often as before I was pregnant (thank god! )
i know you can take tylenol safely for them. stay in a dark, quiet room. the only thing that REALLY helps to get rid of them is to sleep, which is easier said than done when you feel like someone is jackhammering your head.
ive taken excedrin migraine for them, although i wouldnt recommend it. im already on lovenox so the aspirin isnt that huge of a risk for me as im already being monitered.
feel better!
