Target return policy with no receipt
So we received the leap frog music table for Liam from my brother & his girlfriend. While its adorable, Liam has outgrown it as he is almost 2 (recommended for ages 6mos+). In fact, it would come up to his knees as its really meant for younger kids. Plus it takes up some room. Now while he'd still enjoy it, I'd rather return to get his something he needs with the return as he got sooo much stuff anyway.
So, I'm heading to target tomorrow. Not sure where they got it and I feel uncomfortable asking for a recipt. Does Target take returns without a receipt? If they don't, I'll go to Walmart, but since I'll already be at Target doing returns anyway with my card, I'd like to save a trip.

I checked the website and there is no real policy, but of course walmart has one. I mean, I'm going there anyway so I guess I should try and see.
Its just big and bulky to bring into the store only to have to put it back in the car you know.

i've had them take back a toy that I KNOW was purchased @ BRU, i just didn't have a receipt and same as you, didn't want to ask for it.

They did for me. You have to show your license and they allow you one a year or something like that. But this was last year so who knows now?

i would take it to BBB. you might only get credit but im sure you could find something else there.
i think the Target will let you return 3 items per year "with your license". They can track religious returners this way.

I think they are inconsistent. I was told at one Target that I couldn't return something I HAD a receipt for because it wasn't in the original packaging. Then, when I got another from the shelf, they told me it couldn't be returned because it wasn't the same exact item, since it was a different color. My DH took it to a different Target and had no problem.
I love to shop their but I think a lot of them give people a big hassle without a receipt. Because it's the holidays, they might ease up a little.
