Swine Flu

Is anyone else freaking out about this?? I work at a school and I just saw on the news St.Francis Prep had an outbreak.

yeah my cousin goes to the school....it was also on CH 7 news i think fri at 11.....check on you tube or google it....

They say it's passed around like the common cold, right? The best way to stay safe is too wash your hands alot and dont let anyone sneeze or cough on your

What are the symptoms of swine flu in humans?
The symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing. Some people with swine flu also have reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

I'm a teacher at the school and pregnant. The school is taking very good care of the students and is taking direction from the dept. of health and cdc. My doctor is trying to find out what my next step is.

This makes me nervous I hate that the symptoms seem to be common symptoms.

I have allergies and they are causing me to have a runny nose and coughing- runny nose and coughing seems to be a symptom of everything

I think the big thing is to check or fever.

I am nervous about this too. I work in a hospital. Just wash your hands frequently a keep your hands away from your mouth and nose.

I work in a very urban middle school. I'm really worried. I've been trying to do some research and see how it affects pregnant women...

So there are a few of us Prep girls. When did you all graduate? I graduated in '98.

graduated in '02 and work there now. It's a brand new strain in the US. It seems that most people in the US are getting mild cases. The best thing is to wash your hands and avoid contact with your eyes and mouth because that is where germs enter. (that's what the swine hotline told me) It is spread usually if someone sneezes or coughs on you.

My grandma is in the hospital...and i went to visit her today. Before I walked into Emergency there was a huge note saying to wear a mask if you have flu like symptoms....I put one on anyways....i didn't want to take any chances. You should have been there to see how i reacted to my father asking me why i was wearing the mask (no one knows i'm pregnant yet)...it was not fun!

My cousins go to Prep and two of them have "mono" now. Their Dr. swears its not the swine flu....but my aunt is still worried.

ugh totally scary. My school is on spring break this week and I can imagine that tons of my students are traveling....uggh I hope everyone stays healthy!

Yes I'm nervous but I'm going to try to remember to wash my hands a lot. My students still haven't mastered the "cover your mouth when you sneeze" move.

i graduated in '01 and i was away for the weekend in puerto rico, i just heard about it last night on the news we just have to be careful
