I started to watch but dh came home and changed the channel.
I am going to watch on demand though.
I am reading what a lot of celebrities and artists are about the situation and are trying to mute his music.
so crazy. These poor women.

Ive heard and read so much over the years abour this pig/pedophile that I can not watch another thing. Its outrageous that he isnt in jail and that his career is thriving.

Horrifying. I saw an interview with his brother Carey Kelly they both were sexually abused by an older sister for yesrs. R kelly also was physically abusive to his wife Ansrea for many years. Saw both of thise interviewed on youtube

I'm up to episode 4 and I can't believe he is still walking around.
I never really followed his story so I am not sure why he was acquitted yet.
His wife was locked in a bedroom and would have to ask if she could come out to get food.
and all his women had to call him daddy.

I binged the first five episodes tonight and am dying to watch the last episode!!! He is totally a dirt bag and needs to be in jail. How he got away with this behavior for 45 years is so disgusting and beyond me. What people will do for money and fame repulses me. Thank goodness for the good people who are willing to be brave and speak out, for those who will not be bought. and the problem is... ITS STILL HAPPENING!!!

I just binge watched this this afternoon.
I took a snow day bc we got a foot a snow and there was no way I was going to travel 2 hours for one two hour class I do. Luckily, my boss was understanding.
Anyway, he is a sick, sick man/creep. I don’t know how he is getting away with this all. They did mention he had friends in the police department in one part. I guess money can let people get away with a lot of things. It was disturbing. I’m glad they took him off of Spotify and his shows are starting to get cancelled.

These shows are so important. We all need to take a hard look in the mirror. For every child that’s abused, there’s an adult who knows something isn’t right.
So many people overlooked this. You can say it’s because the victims were black (I do think that contributed) but it also happened with USA gymnastics and so many other situations. There are adults in these situations who turn a blind eye.
I promise to say something if I see something. I promise to raise my daughter to know she owns her body and to speak up if someone makes her uncomfortable. I promise to make sure she knows I will always believe her and she should never fear speaking the truth. I promise to speak up if a situation, neighbor, friend, etc makes me suspect a child is being harmed.
We need to protect our girls and our boys.
And yes, R Kelly is a monster. But maybe, just maybe, if someone had protected him when he was younger, the cycle could have been stopped. (I’m not excusing his behavior).
We all knew about the video and trial. It took a tv show to open our eyes.

Honestly this new wave of backlash makes me SO mad. I worked in the music industry and this has been WIDELY known for years and everyone chose to look the other way because it made them money.
Gaga, John Legend, promoters, etc nobody chose to speak out until all of this new publicity.

I’m sick in bed today and watched the whole thing I do not know how that creep is not locked up. All those people he surrounded himself need to be locked up too. I really hope all those girls have gotten the help they need and deserve. Justice needs to be survived for those girls.

yes!!! he admitted to so much stuff, not just that. but he knew what was going on and he was his accomplice. he needs jail time too. he was like well i was getting paid. um.... ok but if my boss asks me to murder someone im not going to do it whether he pays me or not... you know???
AND the fact that R kelly was picking up underage girls AT HIS TRIAL. like wtf. how was that allowed?!? that girl knew exactly what she was doing.
what im annoyed at... i get Stockholm syndrome and yada yada but how do these girls not care enough about their moms? that girl knows her mom is outside the house screaming for her, begging for her... hasnt seen her in three years... finally fights to get a welfare check on the girl and the daughter says im fine.... um... at least have the decency to say that to your mothers face. this angers me so much! that poor mom.

Think about it -- 3 years in of brain washing. 3 years of threats and fear. Maybe she is afraid for her mother that something will happen to her.
I really feel for these girls and their families. I hope now that this is all out in the news something is done to prevent it from continuing. The sad truth is there is always going to be a young girl who feels badly enough about themselves to fall victim to this man.

I'm not sure who it was I saw on TV, maybe his lawyer, but when it was brought up about Lady Gaga, he got super fired up and was like "Oh please. She's just speaking out now because she doesn't want to jeopardize her chance at an Oscar." I'm a huge Gaga fan but when he said that, there was something about the way he said it that made me believe him.
