summer rental for family of 3 - any advice

Hi ladies,
I could use your help. DH and i are both teachers and are trying to plan our summer vacation. We would love to rent a beach house for a month. It would be us and our DD will be 18 months. We don't need to be in the Hamptons - any town with a beach would be great.
Do you have any recommendations? What towns are more affordable than the hamptons?
Anyone renting a home?
Any suggestions or leads would be greatly appreciated Chat Icon

Great idea! Sounds wonderful! Chat Icon

Check out VRBO.com and search for rentals with feedback/comments. How about the north fork or even wading river/peconic?

We have been going to cape cod for the past six years. You can rent homes. We have been renting at ocean's edge resorts for the past 5 years. Great condos, access to pools, gym. The condos are five minutes from the beach. Lots to do. We love it there so much, we actually just bought a condo ourselves in ocean's edge.

We are looking for renters---we have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath.

Ocean City, New Jersey is where my family spends their summers. Not only is it a beach town on the Jersey Shore but they also have a boardwalk with rides, waterparks, mini-golf, shops and food. They have a lovely town and the beaches their are all clean and family friendly. Good Luck!

Do you want LI? The North Fork has a ton of rentals for the summer! So relaxing on the North Fork.

Or we travel to Maine every summer! So much fun and so much to do. We stay in Ogunquit but the houses there are expensive to rent. We stay in a hotel.

York is right next door and is a lot more reasonably priced and is also very nice.
