Suggest a family vacation spot on the east coast!
My family is scattered all over the country and we want to get together for a summer vacation, probably for about a week, next summer. Somewhere along the East coast or in the Northeast area would be best. Anyone have any suggestions?? We've done Ocean City, MD in the past and we love it there, but we're looking for something new. TIA!

My family and I are doing this in a couple of weeks and do it every summer. You will not be dissappointed

OBX for sure, or Oak Island, NC, which is just South of Wilmington, NC.

I've heard people mention The Outerbanks and how much they love it but don't really know anything about it. Is it more like condos that you rent from people or hotels? What can you tell me about it in a nutshell as far as things to do? North Carolina would be a nice centralized location for everyone.

It's mostly houses to rent... they have 3br house up to 8 or 9 bedroom houses.
We have alot of people so we got the 8 br house that sleeps 22 people and for the week it was roughly $3700
As far as what there is to do... it's basically a huge beach community so most people send thy're time at the beach or at thier private pools. They're are a couple of restaurants and shops, but not a ton. You can make resevations for excursions such as chartering a boat or renting bikes ( although alot of the home come with bikes already) canoes...etc

So I was just looking into it, and it looks like there are bunch of different little islands and towns. Is there a certain town/area you would suggest I look first?? What area will you be staying in?

What about venturing up to the Delaware beaches (like Rehoboth or Dewey)? I prefer it up there to OC (much less commercialized).
