Stroller Weight Capacity

I really like the City Mini but noticed that the weight capacity is 50 lbs. Is that a high enough weight so that I can use the stroller for awhile?

I have no idea how long a kid is usually in the stroller?

Help!

my nephew is 6 and only 40 lbs, so i'd say you got a while for the city mini.

Re: Stroller Weight Capacity

I think 50 pounds is good! I've been reading that the average 1 year old is around 23 pounds, and weight/height slow down after that (they obviously still grow a ton, it's just not as rapid).

Re: Stroller Weight Capacity

Well my DS is 2.5 and close to 40 pounds!! But actually it's not the weight that it's issue for us right now, it's the height. He looks like a GIANT in his Graco Quattro, the only stroller he fits in ok is the Maclaren Techno XLR. Just keep in mind how big you and your DH are- I'm 5'8" and DH is 6'2"... we are going to have tall kids!!

Re: Stroller Weight Capacity

Like Megan I have a big son. He has been off the charts in height and weight nearly since birth.

At 2yo he was 40lbs. But at 3 he is still under 50lbs. Personally I think 3 years in a stroller is great because most kids dont use a stroller all the time by 3, maybe for long outings but most of the time they are so independent at that age that they want to walk and its a non issue.
