Statewide mask mandate starting Monday
went to two stores this morning, they had signs up but one place had someone working without a mask and another had people shopping with out one. I think people are over it and dont care, dont want to fight

Yep. We have a thread going to see where everyone goes and what the situation is. So far a ton of places are saying NOTHING and do not even have signs. Even some employees are not wearing them. I will not out any specific places but the stores visited range from small businesses all the way to major big box stores.
that's what I've been hearing as well.
DH's gym made him wear a mask to walk in and then nobody kept it on while working out and not a word was said.
But yes, don't name names- too many Karen's looking to report people

Nope, 90% at Kohl’s had masks on and the majority were old who most likely are triple vaxxed.
The cashier said it was is nice to see someone without a mask and that an older man got in a screaming match with someone over masks.
I said violence is going to start. It is ridiculous.
5 stores, not one person told me I needed to wear a mask.

Blakeman won't enforce Hochul's COVID-19 mask mandate, spokesman says The incoming Nassau County executive, taking office on Jan. 1, has said he believes the county's COVID-19 indicators don't warrant a mandate. Gov. Kathy Hochul's order requires masks or vaccines for indoor public places. Nobody was enforcing it the first time around. Sure all the stores had signs etc., but I never once saw it enforced anywhere I went.
And for the record - the mandate is not coming from the Governor's office, it's coming from the Department of Health.

Nobody was enforcing it the first time around. Sure all the stores had signs etc., but I never once saw it enforced anywhere I went.
And for the record - the mandate is not coming from the Governor's office, it's coming from the Department of Health.
No one enforced it today and if an employee or owner asked to wear one, I would comply. Otherwise I don’t plan to wear one as I haven’t since May and there is absolutely no proof this variant is worse than the first and the second.

There is a picture of Steve Bellone at a packed Town meeting yesterday. The entire place is wearing a mask. Except for him.
So I guess he's leading by example.
