Statewide mask mandate starting Monday
Masks will be required at all indoor places that don't have vaccine requirements it seems. So I guess all stores again? Because Covid is running rampant in stores.

So is this for Rockland County ? Just wondering bc I live in in NJ but do 90% of shopping and dining in Rockland !!! I can't imagine a lot of places I go to enforcing this.

Actually - Ed Day is fighting back, he was mad this was sprung without any info and that nobody from the state could answer his questions.

Some counties in the state are already coming out and saying they won't be enforcing this.
Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin said the state will have to enforce the mandate in Rensselaer County, because the county will not use its resources to enforce it.
“This is the wrong direction for the state to be taking, especially given the innumerable orders, policy changes and directives already made during the past two years," McLaughlin said. "This is an overreach and it comes at a time when residents and businesses are already struggling.”
Madison County Board Chairman John Becker says Madison County will not be following the state mask mandate announced by Gov. Kathy Hochul Friday.
Becker released the following statement after Hochul’s announcement:
“In light of the Governor’s announcement on Friday that masks will be required in all indoor public places, unless a business or venue implements a vaccine requirement, Madison County would like to announce we will not be enforcing this latest mandate.

I believe these 2 counties that I mentioned above would not be enforcing a vaccine mandate...if there ever was one...either.

Haven't been out today but I am hearing nobody is really complying and nobody is enforcing it in a bunch of places (7 11, Dunkin Donuts, Stop and Shop)
I doubt this will have legs

I went to King Kullen this morning, and there was a sign on the door with the new mandate.
However, the cashier who rung me up was NOT wearing a mask.

I went to Starbucks this morning and there was a sign on the door, Masks required due to local mandate.
This is probably why they gave the stores three days for the mandate to take effect, to get proper signage up.

3 days to make a sign? Unless it is being mailed to them, a sign can be made in less than a day.

Yep. We have a thread going to see where everyone goes and what the situation is. So far a ton of places are saying NOTHING and do not even have signs. Even some employees are not wearing them. I will not out any specific places but the stores visited range from small businesses all the way to major big box stores.
