Sort of parenting related...my half time NYC job was transferred
and half time LI job was transferred to a full time LI job when i return from my maternity leave. I cannot tell you how appreciative I am to both of my bosses in both regions for considering this option. its something i always wanted because of having small children and commuting to NYC...on some days, i would get home past my son's bedtime. if i didnt have small children at home, i would not have minded so much being split in both regions, but being at the mercy of the LIRR, was a killer. A big HOORAY for more time home with my babies when i resume working!!!

That's awesome...you are very lucky. Commuting to and from NYC is not fun especially when you have little ones.
