So we got the date for Ryan's CPSE meeting with the school district
12/11 at 11:15..
I am so nervous about this meeting. I am going to ask his speech teacher at his school to attend for some back up. I have serious anxiety over this! I just hope that all goes well and they give him the services that he needs!

Good luck, it is always a good idea to bring therapists
and/or teachers that have been working with the child so
you can paint a clear picture for the district.

I'm a speech therapist and I can empathize with your anxiety but just go in knowing that if things don't turn out the way you want them in any aspect you can always table the meeting and reconvene. Nothing is set in stone. If you have any ques. I'm happy to help! Good Luck!

good luck at the meeting. i was a nervous wreck for mine yesterday but at my meeting the liason from the agency I work with was there as well as the Director of mynursery school and Jacob's teacher at school.
They gave me great support and we were happy with the outcome..

I have found it helpful to know exactly what outcome I wanted before going into these meetings. Talk to DS's therapist and any other therapists that did evaluations and get their suggestions. Make sure you know and understand what is in their reports. Bring as many professional staff related to your case as you can. If a therapist can not be there in person see if he/she can join by phone. If you are not happy with what is offered table the meeting.
Remember these people really want to help the children but you need to be your child's #1 advocate.
