small appliances

dh and I argued where they would be kept, I say they belong under the island and pulled out as needed, the coffee pot and exception it can stay out. he wants everything on the counters, I personally do not care for that. so my question is, do you keep your small appliances kept away until needed or do you display them ?
p.s I told him to worry about decorating his den and garage and leave my kitchen l.r and d.r to me. Chat Icon

Re: small appliances

All small appliances are in the cabinets - even the coffee maker (we don't drink coffee - it's for guests and for my mom when she watches DS). My counters end up cluttered enough without appliances.

Re: small appliances

The toaster and the coffee maker other than that - if you have cabinet space for them i would put them in there.

Re: small appliances

we don't have any cabinet space in our kitchen so our small apps are all on the counters. it's cluttered for sure, but we don't have any other option (we live in an apt.).

Re: small appliances

Only our Kitchen Aid mixer stays out. It is too freaking heavy to store anywhere else but the counter. All other small appliances get out away out of sight.

Re: small appliances

The only appliance we have on the counter is our toaster oven. Everything else is put away. Keeps the counters looking neater and less cluttered because I don't have a lot of counter space.

Re: small appliances

We have the crock pot, toaster oven and Griddler on the counter. If I had more room I'd leave my Kitchen Aid mixer out. As it is, I need to rearrange to fit in the coffee machine I just ordered!

Everything else is the cabinets.
We don't drink coffee, so there's nothing that we need to use everyday.

I love the look of clear counters.

Re: small appliances

I put everything except the coffee pot & DH's electric tea kettle away. I hate them all over the counters.
