Sleep training out the window - what to do about teething at night?

Just when I built up the strength to really do some CIO sleep training, we had done 2 nights, DS is really teething. Last night I couldn't CIO because I knew he was in pain. Even when I picked him up that didn't work. We have him some Tylenol and put on some orajel before he went to bed. I gave him those teething tablets too, but a few hours later he was up screaming. It was too soon to give the Tylenol again.

Any suggestions? This could go on for weeks !!!!

When DD's molars were coming in she would wake up halfway through the night and nothing I did would help her get back to sleep in her crib, I gave in and let her sleep in the bed with me and DH until her teeth stopped... that was a loooong 2 months. The past week and a half she's been sleeping through the night in her own room.

DH and I were going to start putting DD in her crib and start CIO but she was teething so bad that it wouldnt have been worth it.

Now that her teeth are in we've started CIO and put her in her crib. She still wakes for nighttime feedings but things seem to be going good.

I would say wait until the teeth come in and hopefully things will be a little easier!
