Siding
Need my house resided. I had someone come for a quote and they quoted me $14,000 for vinyl siding, I really don’t want to do vinyl I would like to add some stone work but once I got that price I axed it. My house is roughly 1800sqft, 2 stories, is this fairly accurate? I looked on home advisor and the prices I saw were less but were also national average so that skews things

I don’t know about siding prices but estimates vary so much. I would call about 5-6 more companies so you can get at least 2-3 more estimates.

This.
You need to get lots of estimates to know if you're getting a good price. But beware. Don't just take the lowest price. Get references. Ask your friends and neighbors who they've used.

I was going to recommend unified as well. They did our roof, front door and siding.
The only issue I had (which was a big one) was they didn’t put my electrical outlets back on right (they didn’t seal them) and water got in and caused electrical fire. When I called them they said it says In their contract that you should have an electrician come and check that all electrical is put back securely. It’s in the fine print. I’ve had it fixed and thankfully wasn’t too much damage. The siding job itself was done well and was about a 1/3 less then the other 2 quotes we got. Just add on to the cost however much your electrician will charge to come check and secure all outside electric.

Ugh we didn’t even get a real quote last week. A guy came to measure and said it’s going to be over 100k. I’m doneeeeee

I honestly think $14K is on the low side. Siding is one of the most expensive things to replace in a home. It can be dependent on a lot of things, but $20K to $30K is more in line with what I would expect, based on previous experience with clients.

This is around what I was quoted, not including a new garage door, driveway, front door, expanded porch...etc.
In the end we were like eh let’s just redo the kitchen at this point
