Shoes by Door?
Hi, What does everyone do with all the shoes by their front door? The pile keeps growing!

Leave them there until my DH gets fed up and yells at us to put our shoes away!
Then they go back to their proper bedroom closets.

We try and keep only 1 pair per person there and the rest go in the coat closet - ideally every night all the shoes would be put in coat closet - a mom can dream ( I never put my shoes there :) )

Shoes by Door?
I have a small basket by the door and the kids each keep two pairs there (boots and sneakers for now). Everything else stays in their room and is only worn occasionally so I don't mind that I'm the only one that carries them up there lol. I put my shoes in my bedroom closet when I get home and dh is 50/50 putting them in his closet or leaving them wherever someone will trip over them.

I have the pottery barn Samantha bench with the three wicker baskets. Kids shoes are supposed to go in one, my shoes and husband shoes are supposed to go in another and the third is for hats and gloves or random drawstring backpacks that have come in handy lately
Just a side note those wicker basket things look lousy after two years

We have a storage bench that closes so you can't see the shoes. The kids can have 2 pairs each in there and I try to limit 1 pair each for DH and me. We also have a small mat for DS's cleats because those are just gross!

I have a large wicker basket from Homegoods. Throw them all in! Ones that are out of season, or don't get worn much are in the coat closet.
