Shellac Manicure-worth it?

I'm going for my first one tomorrow. I heard pretty good things about the polish so figured since were going away this would be perfect to not have to worry about chipping, peeling or fading.

Pros-Cons? Is there any filing of the nail? i just grew out my nails and am happy with the length, I don't want them to get ruined. Heard that the nail is very protected and actually strengthens them. is that true for you?

btw- the place I called and am going to is $25.

Re: Shellac Manicure-worth it?

I just started with the Shellac manicure and love it. I have had it done twice, no filing of the nail. They soak it, then use the wooden dowl to take it off and it flakes right off. The only con is that there are only 24 colors to choose from and they are all basic colors, pinks, reds, nudes etc. So I am hoping creative comes out with some fun colors soon.

ok, I went today and LOVE it. We'll see how long mine last. The salon had 37 shades (10 of which were new). I checked all the bottles to make sure it was the 'real' brandChat Icon .

Thanks! read the responses on another thread. So cool.

I like it and have gotten it a few times but it makes your nails very thin.

I would love to try it. I work in Nassau but live in Queens.

Can anyone tell me which salons offer it ?

Thanks.
