how is it? I am honestly kinda nervous about it

I used to see one. He was super nice but I did feel like he had "no idea" about we really felt. But I did really like him. I left the practice for other reasons.

i saw a female dr when i first started going to the OB when i was 18. when i got pg with my son, i bled in the beginning so i had to see the male dr in my practice and i LOVED him. i wanted to stay with him my whole pg and then at the end i started seeing his son. Now his son is my dr and i couldnt even imagine going back to the female ones. it really is not that different at all. and i think they listen a bit more than the female drs. but, that is my experience. it wont be bad good luck!

My first was a male. He was actually the doctor for my whole family (mom, grandmother, aunts, great grandmother, step sisters, their mom and aunts...) He was so nice! Always asked if I was doing okay.

I use a male ob/gyn and I'm very happy with him. He is not short on empathy of any kind.

thanks for your quick responses...I am just a little shy and nervous about some man I have never met before just jumping in there...I usually get dinner and a movie before I drop my pants

Honestly, I never understood the big deal with seeing a male ob/gyn. I have mostly seen males, but I really have no preference one way or the other. I don't like anyone seeing me without my pants on, male or female, so it really doesn't make a difference to me.

I've always gone to a male ob/gyn... he was GREAT and now that i'm down here in FL I was recommended to another male ob/gyn.

I personally always feel more comfortable with a female GYN, but I'm sure that there are many, many kind and emphathetic male docs out there....hopefully yours is one of them...

my ob/gyn is a male, and he is great. Just think he is "diving in" all day, so it does not phase him at all....it's just part of the job.

I've gone through quite a few Dr's as I am pretty picky about those types of Dr's. I do see a man right now and its actually one of the best experiences I've had. I find women to be tougher because they think they know what you should be feeling..

I just went to see a male obgyn recently for the first time and felt the same way as you. My friend recommended him and she didnt tell me that he was in his early 40's and decent looking I was cringing the whole time I was there...especially during the booby exam..
ETA: I am going back to him because he knows his stuff..so I am going to just have to su ck it up.
