Saw Reign Over Me tonight...*SPOILER ALERT*
There were a few things that really bothered me about the movie. First of all, IMO, the way Adam Sandler portrayed his character was more similar to someone with autism than someone with PTSD. Yes, someone with such extreme PTSD may try out to shut out their world in similar ways to someone with autism, but I didn't think it was a great portrayal.
However, what bothered me way beyond that was the end of the movie, when the psychiatrist brought her other patient to Charlie's apartment. That was totally unethical, and certainly not what Charlie needed at that time!
I realize my professional biases are GREATLY impacting my feelings about this movie, but I was so annoyed at the end!

I absolutely loved this movie. I do agree with you on some level. I think yes it was unethical but it is a movie. lol
I think by the end of they were tryng to help Charlie as friends. Remeber the mention of the broken heart? It was more like two lost souls then treating the PTSD.
Adam Sandler was amaziing he was he comedic self, yet was able to be so dramatic and real. I am a huge Adam Sandler fan and he really owned this movie. Don Cheadle was awesome too.
I loved all the psychological aspects this movie dealt with. but I do see your point as a mental health professional

honestly, i didn't see it that way. but i dodn't watch it from that persepective. i think they were all trying to help him and that was the best way they could.

I JUST came back from seeing this and I though it was terrific!! I agree with you in some sense about her ethics and like the other poster said, yep, its a movie LOL...but I think Adam Sandler did a fantastic job considering his non-stop comedy. I cried like 3x haha!!

I saw it last night with DH and we thought that it was not as good as it was hyped up to be by friends and family... I do see where you are coming from with Adam Sandler's portrayal of the character
