repost from parenting: need bday gift ideas for a 4 year old girl
need to get my bf daughter a gift. i am very close with her- she calls me aunt- have NO CLUE what 4 year old toys are popular.. any suggestions?

My niece is 4 and she is all about the dress up. Dress up anything, shoes, crowns, dresses anything girly.

Princess everything!
I've heard there is a movie out where Barbie turns into everything Maddie would dream of...a princess, a mermaid, a fairy...I want to say the name is Faierotopia but I'm not sure.

oooooooooooooooh, dress up Kris. They have a TON of stuff at Toys r us.
And Polly Pockets are huge too.

My kids like it but dress-up lasts much longer!
If you want the gasp when she opens the present go doll, toy or dresses. Although great & educational, games don't get the same reaction.
