Really Late sleep schedule....
Hey guys....I was just wondering if any of your DCs had a really late sleeping schedule....
My DS is WIDE awake from about 6pm - 1130pm. He usually goes to sleep between 11-12 and will sleep for 5/6 hours but I am starting to hate staying up that late. Did any one elses kids start out like this? Any suggestions on how to get him to go to sleep earlier? He is 8 weeks old....

What your son is doing now is exactly what he should be doing. Give it time.. he'll go to bed earlier when he is a little older.

hello!
my dd just started to get on a "schedule". swaddling her and rocking her to sleep every night at 8PM seems to help. then once i put her down she sleeps anywhere from 6-9 hours. if she wakes when its still dark (before 6AM) i give her a bottle and rock her to sleep.

ITA. And it's great that he's doing a 5-6 hour stretch already at 8 weeks.

DS was going to sleep at 10/11pm until he was 3 months old. It gradually got earlier and earlier. Now at 9 months he goes to bed at 6:30/7pm.

Thanks for posting! I was getting worried about this too. My DD is 7 weeks and she will only fall asleep between 11 and 12 too which is such a pain since I wake up for work at 5  She'll sometimes sleep for 4-5 hours, some nights though only 2 or 3 which hopefully will end soon. Good to hear that she'll start falling asleep earlier on her own and for longer because I haven't been able to change it much....

Thanks ladies....i'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one. I know so many people that have young babies who go to bed around 7 already.....I just thought maybe there was something more I should be doing. He'll fall asleep around 7, but it's usually only for 15/20 minutes....then he's up again...hopefully he'll get a schedule soon!

ITA with this. DD is 12.5 weeks and is still up until 10ish (first 8 weeks or so she was up until 11 or 12 as well). I asked the ped if I should try putting her down earlier. She said as long as I am OK with the late bedtime, then to just leave it and it will eventually get earlier.
