These quotes are out of control for no reason per usual. Chat Icon Chat Icon

I don’t want to quote but thanks for sharing the article Lululu. I also was in the same position as you because of the rules and officials forcing my hand to get my son vaccinated. As you know he just has Covid , and it’s the reason we are holding off. But it’s obvious they are going to make me”choose” to get him vaccinated. Which isn’t a choice and it’s all for stupid reasons that I will vaccinate my son nothing to do with science. It’s frustrating but I’m worried about exclusion and psychological punishment these rules are putting on unvaccinated kids. Treating them like lepers. I am going try to ride it out this school year and maybe have to do it right before school starts in the fall.

I got vaccinated for no reason but to have a meeting for a job in the city. Basically to network. If that’s not the most ridiculous thing ever, then I don’t know what it.

So I feel for the people who are being forced to vaccinate without being allowed time to think it through clearly. See how it is working and make an educated decision for their own family.

I was so sick from the vaccine that I’m literally scared I will have to get the booster. I’ve never been scared of a vaccine or had the reaction I did to this one. I at least need time to forget the feeling before getting the booster, if I have to get it for work.Chat Icon

See that is what KILLS me with this.
You had to get a vaccine to go a meeting!
Yeah they can argue, well nobody forced you to. You didn't have to go to that meeting. But hell, you wanted the job, or needed the job, or worked hard and saw a great opportunity that you might have to pass up all because the meeting was in NYC.
Now if the meeting had been in NJ or on LI and literally 5 feet over the boarder from Queens into Nassau county, you could have gone to your meeting with no vaccine.
But having to make a MEDICAL decision over something with potential side effects, to put something in your body that you can't take out because you need to work or go to school or do whatever, to me is truly disgraceful.

And what makes it even MORE disgraceful is the fact that the vaccine doesn't work to stop spread. If it did, I can see the mandates. I can see the gov't saying, well this is the only way to stop this thing, we have no choice.
But it's not!
And if people don't see that- I'm really done with this world

Butttttttt...she still had a choice. Chat Icon

Oh and feel better soon KingKlang. Please don’t let stress and anxiety of the unknown heighten you’re symptoms and delay your recovery. Try to remain calm, build up your immune system and focus on relaxing.

Thank you. I’m much better now. The emergency doctor came and gave me some emergency medicine in case it happens again and a prescription (no idea how to get that filled) at 9pm. But he couldn’t give me the PCR test. So now I have to GO OUT and get that done. This makes no sense.

Well, I tested positive this morning on the home test, then went to a test center for the rapid antigen and it was positive. No lines, thankfully.

Next I have to go for my PCR test, so I can get my “healed” certificate and I think that will be able to be counted as my booster shot. Yay, no needle for me, I think.

Now on to 14 days of quarantine, but I think that might have changed. The info line I called today said it was 14 days, but now I have to wait for the health office to contact me.

It sucks.

I either got it from a restaurant I went to on Wednesday. There were also protests going on in the area at the same time…

I was alerted by an app that I was in close contact with someone. There is a government app you use to check in to restaurants.

Can I ask why you tested? You can work from home if you are sick, correct?

On Mondays I cannot work from home if I am sick. I had mild cold symptoms and I got a notice on my app that I was in contact with someone who tested positive.

Why are you questioning me? I did the right thing and got tested and it was positive. It’s called social responsibility.

I just don't feel that people should be running automatically to be tested. I don't believe all tests are 100% correct. I do get why you did it though and I do agree that many people do need to be tested, like myself for work reasons and other things like surgeries and travel. I just don't think people should be going insane, at least how they are here, to be tested.

It was my third test ever and I cried because I am afraid of medical procedures. I felt that something wasn’t right, and my gut feeling was correct.

Just this morning I felt really funny. Kind of like I had smoked 10 joints over the weekend and downed a bottle of Xanax. I felt extremely confused and my fingers and lips felt tingly. So I called the ambulance. They checked my oxygen and heart rate and I was ok. It was a panic attack. So now I am getting a home visit from another service here to help with that. It came on so sudden and it wasn’t something I had ever felt before. My gums were pale.

Edit: the brain fog is a very interesting symptom that plays with your head.

Were all your swabs way up your nose? Just asking because the ones I get basically just tickle you and my eyes tear up but I learned just to close my eyes and it doesn't happen anymore.

No, they weren’t all the way up my nose. I have a big enough nose they don’t need to go that far up Chat Icon.

Getting my PCR tomorrow and I’ll try that trick. It doesn’t hurt, but it’s just the idea. I can’t explain it.

Wound up not having to do a nasal PCR. It was the throat swab and those don’t bother me because I have done so many of them in my life.

They tested for Delta and it wound up being Omicron. Now I just have to finish my 14 day quarantine and can’t go back to work until my PCR is negative.

Soon I’ll have my healed status and then I don’t think I will need my booster. I have to ask about that.

There is a strange sense of relief and I’m fortunate that I got such a mild case.

How would they even know what strain it was? I thought they take a bunch of positive tests and test for the strain. You wouldn't know for weeks if they could even sort that out.

That sucks 14 days as we only have 5 over here now. I do have a friend though that just tested positive and his job told him 10 days. Don't know why unless they don't know the new rules. He is also fully vaccinated.

My paperwork states they tested for mutation marker L452R, which apparently is in previous strains before, but it is not in Omicron. They were able to do this testing in 10 hours. I had no idea they were doing sequencing as well, but they did. That mutation marker was not found in my test.

That's really interesting. Not being snarky either as I was just having a discussion with a friend the other day how they don't know. I honestly think now they are guessing too with the symptoms as they are all very familiar.

I actually sit there and count and one girl did it like 4 times while the guy another week did 17 lol

Yeah, I found it really interesting as well. I suppose there is that .1% chance it’s wrong, but my symptoms point to it.

I guess I got the sequencing because I went to an official testing center and not one of the pop up ones all over. The official ones have the option of free PCRs and the pop up ones charge 80 for them.

Ahhh that could be a possibility too. The rest of them have to send them all away and it is probably just too much work to keep up with who has what variant. My place is lucky to just get me my results in 15 minutes as they have been so short staffed and back logged. One time it was 40 minutes and I literally went back up there to see what the issue was and they were like, oh you will get it in 15 minutes. Ummm....40 minutes later. I think because many don't need a hard copy they feel they can put them to the side and just do them later and call later.

It sounds like you are just getting the antigen tests. They don’t usually sequence them. They sequence the PCRs.

I wouldn't know if they sequence them as I have never come up positive to question it.

I don't think in the US that they sequence all PCRs either.

I don't think so. I think they just push one variant and claim that is what people have. You have no taste, well then you have the OG or Delta. You have a cold, you have Omicron. Chat Icon

Lol - I think they take a sample and that's how they figure out what the dominant variant is. But, overall - they don't test much.
