I have been taking DD with me since she was 2. She loves it and it is great mommy/daughter time. They dont typically do a full mani/pedi mostly a polish change

I'm not a big fan of nail polish on little girls but my daughter is sold hook, line & sinker. I usually get mine in the city so she doesn't come with me.

She had her "spa" birthday party this weekend, so she still has the nail polish on her nails.

Jenna only likes it when Mommy does it so every Saturday we have polish change day and I let her soak her feet in the foot bath thing I haveChat Icon

She is such a diva!!!

If DS was a girl- I would totally do this as long as I think she'd sit/behave

If I had a daughter, at 3 years old I would bring her for a "mani" and just let them soak her hands and paint her nails. Chat Icon

Re: kids getting mani/pedis

Not too crazy about the idea, but maybe I'm jaded because I get my nails done in a town where the children are "privileged", VERY spoiled and have little if any manners.

They honestly think they DESERVE these things and the way they talk to their moms is Chat Icon

The little ones ARE cute though! Chat Icon

Re: kids getting mani/pedis

My sister has 3 girls and she took them all the time when they were younger now their 8,9, & 10 and they're still getting them. I see nothing wrong with it, I actually think it's cute.

My DD won't be going for a long while. She just doesn't need it as a kid. Plenty of time later on and I consider it a privilege of being much older, like make-up and heels.

Re: kids getting mani/pedis

If I had a little girl, I would absolutely take her to get her nails/toes polished, but probably only on special occassions so she knew that it was a treat and special time between mommy and daughter.

Same here for both my girls. It's too much of a grown up thing for me to do with my girls. Kids need to be kids and not be smaller versions of adults.

But that's just my opinion. I have nothing against anyone who does do it.

I'm not going to mention it until she says something.
I only get pedicures, for most of the year I do it myself. She doesn't see me go so what she doesn't know...

Even then, I'd probably do it at home and only for special occassions/once in a blue moon.

JMO, but I'm not a fan of cosmetics on little girls. Also, afraid of the chemicals and germs in the salon... one of the reasons why I stopped going.

That's how I feel also. But I'm also not a fan of ear piercing either. I think there is too much of a push to make our babies into little grown ups these days. As a little kid, I had no idea what a mani/pedi even was Chat Icon
