How often do you clean
your bathroom? (tub/shower/tiles, etc)
your kitchen?
vacuum/mop?
I'm trying to get into a good cleaning routine, and I'm curious what other people do. I HATE cleaning, so any tips would be appreciated. :)

We tidy up daily, we do a hard clean about every other weekend.

This is based on just me and DH... when we have kids, I'm sure this'll change.

How often do you clean
I clean the whole house once a week. That includes dusting, vacuuming and moping. The kitchen gets cleaned daily and I swiffer/sweep every day too.

How often do you clean
Kitchen and bathroom counters daily
Toilet a few times a week
Floors are scrubbed by hand once a week
Windows and mirrors done once a week
Shower once a week
Deep cleaning of everything else on a rotating basis-I usually just focus on one area a week (reorganizing a closet, deep clean of the fridge, cleaning out drawers, etc)

Lol, that's basically how I've been, but I just completed a major reno so I feel like I should make more of an effort.
We hired a cleaning woman once while I was at work, but DH was off. He felt so awkward being home while she was cleaning, but we're not comfortable leaving a stranger alone in our home. Its only a 2BR coop so we should be able to manage ourselves, just no motivation.

daily for the upstairs bathroom where we shower. I like to spray after the kids shower then when I go in I rinse it off. Do major cleaning once a week or depending if it's really necessary. Wipe down every day the sinks and mirrors. Kids bathroom downstairs always wiping down. Hardly the basement unless we have overnight guests.
your kitchen? -
daily. Just keep up with wiping down and at night I spray the sink down. Table is always cleaned after meals and it's just small upkeeps. Only big ones when we have big company which can be often. Depending on the season
vacuum/mop? -
mop once a week or every other week. Again depending on company over. I vacuum every other day and sometimes after a big dinner mess. I keep the vacuum close in the closet so usually out often.
I can have some OCD sometimes and just like my home to be clean before I go to bed. If I just keep up with wiping down after things and cleanup as I cook or play with the kids I find it easy to maintain.

Dumb question - but what clearner do you use to scrub the floors? I only ever vacuum or swiffer. (I have all pre-finished hardwood)

My mom is a cleaning lady and I feel like she would have a conniption if I hired one.. but I really really want to!
My toilet is like every 3 days or so I wipe it down and use some of that solution on the inside.. can't remember what it's called right now.
Kitchen... dishes are done everyday and sink is sprayed. I don't cook everyday so I usually try to wipe down when I do & I'm waiting for something to cook.
Vacuum/mop.. I'm the worst with this. I make DH vacuum and I Swiffer right after. I hardly ever MOP though.
Some nights I'll be on pinterest and they have SO many good tips/tricks/schedules. Look on there for some ideas!

Dumb question - but what clearner do you use to scrub the floors? I only ever vacuum or swiffer. (I have all pre-finished hardwood)
I put about a half tablespoon of Murphy's oil into a bucket with warm water (like 6 cups or so), and then use a rag while on my hands and knees. I've tried everything and nothing makes them shine and clean the way that does.

Ditto. We used to have a cleaning lady, so then I could confidently say every other week it was thoroughly cleaned. Now.....? yeah..... not so much.

When company comes over. We purposely invite people over so it forces us to clean. We have has non stop guests since Wed so my house is spotless.

Cleaning? What's that? I hate cleaning. We try to keep the downstairs clean. But I'm embarrassed to say we only do a big clean when we are having company.
I was vacuuming upstairs a few weeks ago. DH came home & said "who is coming?".

Bathroom - once a week...but will wipe down the sink and counters as necessary.
Kitchen - Counters are constantly being wiped down when in use (2x a week).. DH works nights so its very light usage most of the week.
vacuum/mop - at most, every day... at least...every other day. We're in a small condo with 2 dogs and 2 cats... if you don't keep up with it...the hair over runs the joint!

daily. but then on the weekend I do the bathroom I will wash cabinets down.

I vacuum just about every day. I have a pomeranian who sheds a puppy each day.

Because I work full time, once a week for all, including laundry.
I will wipe down my kitchen every night after cooking, bathroom sink as needed, but full on clean once a week.
I'd love to vacuum more often because of the cat, but I don't think that would go over well with my old-*****-from-hell downstairs neighbor.

I'm a clean freak so my cleaning routine may be a bit much....
I vacuum everyday - sometimes a few times a day. I hate to see anything on the floor.
I mop twice a week
I wipe down my kitchen sink and counters daily. I wipe my stove top after I finish cooking. Dishes get done as soon as they are used. I DESPISE dirty dishes in the sink.
I wash the bathtub/shower with cleaner every 2 days. In between, I just rinse after each use.
I windex the mirror and faucets daily. The toilet gets a cleaning every 2 days as well.
I dust every 2 days, change my sheets Saturday mornings.
It sounds like a lot, but because I do it so often it takes less than hour to do it all

Pretty much this. I posted earlier, but I think this sounds just like me. Like you said... you keep at it and it doesn't take long at all. I got it down to a science. I like to go to sleep knowing my house is spotless. My family jokes you can eat off my floors. Also helps to keep the house shoe free. Some occasions I don't say anything, but for the most part with shoes off it's easier to keep clean too.
