Hello !!

I am the Vice- President of The Ashley Wade Foundation. Ashley Wade was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in November 2012, her senior year of high school. For those who don't know, Crohn's is an autoimmune disease that causes her extreme pain every day. Ashley lives in Massapequa Park and started this foundation in an effort to bring joy and excitement to the lives of children affected by a chronic illness. Often times, these children are passed on over by Make-A-Wish and are forgotten. Ashley goes to Winthrop every 6 weeks for treatment. During this time she realized just how many kids are affected by a chronic illness, in fact 15-18 % of kids are affected. In the next week or so we will be visiting Winthrop Hospital to hand out toys and stuffed animals to these kids.

We are holding our second annual fundraiser this upcoming September in seaford. We are in the process of becoming a non- profit, but with the rate the IRS is moving we do not expect to be non-profit and have a tax exempt number by the time of the fundraiser.

I am hoping that people have ideas about how we can possibly fund raise without being non-profit. We are looking for donation of food and items for baskets. Does anyone have any ideas about where we can look and how to go about this.

Thank you !
