Question for moms with toddler girls in dance

We are going to try dance with DD.

Can anyone tell me what goes on in a 2 year old class? Is it mommy and me style normally or do we sit back and watch?

Do they have them wear the cute little outfits? Do they have a "uniform" (in terms of colors/style/stockings/etc?)

Julia takes dance, next month will be her 2nd year! The place that she goes to the mom's stay and wait in there waiting room, they have to wear tights, leotard, tap shoes, and ballet shoes as well.

Her dance school has a recital in the summer in June, its adorable its held at one of the middle schools by us and each class goes on stage and performs there dance, its so cute! It goes from age 2 to adult.

we do ymca dance its a mommy and me. shes 2 1/2 and think next year she will go into a regular program. i dont think shes ready for a instructional class yet. plus our programs for dance run sept -june with a recital over at the ymca its 10 weeks and we can try ballet, tap and different things to see what she likes. i put her in a leotard with a tutu and tights.

My DD will be 3 next month and starting tap dancing that week. Moms aren't allowed in--too distracting for the children. I'm a bit bummed about that--I mean, I'm going to love the free time, but would like to see her dance before the recital in June!

Her outfit will be a black leotard, tights and tap shoes and a pink sheer wrap/skirt thing.
