Question for gas oven owners

We have a new gas oven/range. I have never had one before. This is probably a really stupid question. Is it normal to smell gas when using the oven? I don't always smell it but right now I do. I'm not sure if I should be worried or only if I smelled it and it wasn't on.
please help!

I have one right now but thank god in 2 weeks I will have electric again! I dont love the gas stoves and yes at times I think they smell. If it continues maybe look to see if there is something in the burner. If it still smells call someone who knows what they are doing. IMO electric is so much easier.

I haven't used my oven in quite some time but I don't think we smell gas. My oven takes a while to cool down that's the only thing I do remember.

Sometimes, if it doesn't light, I will smell a little gas, yes. It's not a good thing, but my stove is really old.

I don't either. If you are sure it's gas and not that protective whatever that is usually on new appliances burning off, you should call the fire dept.

Maybe it's not gas but we have used it quite a few times since we bought it and it doesn't smell everytime. Tonight, it was much stronger initially but then got less and now I don't smell it at all. I'm gonna check out the pamphlet I got with it so I can make sure I took all protective whatever off.
Thanks for your help.
