Question about sick days?
How many sick days do you get a year?
I get 7 sick days, 3 personal (teacher) and I've already used 5 days.
I am feeling SOOOO sick tonight and hope tomorrow AM isn't that bad because I am dreading working with this cold.

I get 16 sick days that carry over from year to year, 2 personal business days - and a whole bunch of other days divided up into different categories like Family sick, family bereavement, etc.

We get 13 sick days I believe and 3 personal. I teach on LI. I haven't taken any this year and plan on taking one next week

we USED to get 4 within 6 months...and the 5th was an oral "occurence"....so technically 8 a year if spaced out
Now we get as of Jan 1st..PTO days..., sick time, and vacation, personal etc is all lumped together.

I am in the exact same boat...I used 3 last week alone during my stomach flu

I earn 1.66 sick days a month and 1.66 vacation days a month. They roll over from year to year but max out at 40. I at at 39.8 sick days right now.

I have unlimited sick time.
Honestly, though, if you're sick - take the day off! There's nothing worse than going in sick, feeling horribly all day AND getting other people sick in the process. It's just not worth it!

I get 25 days of Personal Time Off - that is sick, personal;, and vacation all lumped into one and used however I choose.

Yes, but I had a baby last school year and only had a few in my CAR before that so I now have a negative #.

12 plus 3 personal a year that roll over. I teach.
I do take my sick days if I am sick, stopped playing a hero a long time ago.
I took four so far this year... one for a test, one for a virus and the other two because I really needed to rest.
After 13 years of teaching I have over 100 in my bank that is why I can leave early for maternity leave (really must with multiples) and still get paid

OOH I got ya! I heard that you need to use your sick days for maternity. The Board doesn't give you any maternity days? That stinks!!

you can take 6 weeks for a vag and 8 weeks for a c-section but they aren't "given" to you --- they are unpaid unless you have the days in your CAB or unless you "borrow" days which is what I had to do.
I borrowed 20 days.
If I needed to take more then that they pay you for nights/weekends/holidays (which I don't exactly understand) and then after that you go on disability.

We get unlimited, however it seems that nobody takes advantage and people walk in with pneumonia. I swear it is reverse psychology!

same here. i used to get 12 sick, but they were pointless b/c of the way the occurence rule was set up, you couldn't take them all.
now, its something like 4 or 5 weeks or PTO (however you want to take it), starting in Jan.

I get 13 plus 2 personal (LI teacher). Before I had DD I had over 80 days which I used when was preggo. I gave birth in March and got paid until the end of the school year. Now I am trying to "save" up my days for my next pregnancy.

Unlimited but if we are sick on a monday or friday, out 3 days or more, or out right before or after a holiday/vacation we need a doctor's note.

I get 20 days a year, that is sick, personal and vacation. When I want a day off, I take it, no need to differentiate between sick, vaca, etc. It is all PTO

i work at a school... we get 12 sick days and 2 personal.... the sick days carry over from school year to school year, personal don't.

at my previous job we got 8 sick days per year & 2 personal days.
they carried over from year to year and you can accrue up to 30 (6 weeks worth).
