Question about American Express Gift Cheque..
My dad gave me a 100 dollar one for Christmas.
I wanted to use it to buy the baby a car seat. First off, can I use it anywhere that accept American Express cards?
Second of all..was he supposed to sign it at all? There is a space that says pay this cheque to the order of...am I supposed to sign there or is that for where I am buying from?? I am so confused. LOL

I have one, too, and have the same questions!
I think we are supposed to sign that line, though. Other than that, I haven't tried to use it yet...

Pay to the order of will be made out to the store you are using it in. (ie..Babies R Us, Macy's etc)
You are supposed to sign it when you first get it- then counter sign in the store when you go to use it.
It goes in as traveler’s cheques so you can use it basically anywhere- and the change will be given back to you in cash!

Just great! My stupid arse signed my name where the stores name was supposed to go. I was in a rush and didnt think to post here before I did it. Now what???? Is it ruined?!??!

It's ok- you can just cross it out- they aren't very strict about it.

If you feel funny crossing your name out in the pay to order of just bring it to your bank and cash it. Get the money and go shopping.

Just an FYI, you can also take these to your bank, cash them and get the money instead of having to use it at a store.
My job used to give them out all the time and I used to just bring them to the bank and get cash
