Pulling up on crib?

How hard is it to lower the crib mattress? Ryan has been pulled up on toys for a while now but it just occured to him today that he can also do this in the crib. I told my DH this would happen soon and to lower the mattress a while ago but he never got around to it and now he's at work today and I'm afraid to put Ryan in for a nap. Is it something I can do myself (I'm not very handy).

Re: Pulling up on crib?

I would say it prbably depends on the crib, but I had to have DH do it. I was not able to reach the bolts properly and needed him to do it. We have a large convertible crib though, and it has extra high sides to begin with.

Re: Pulling up on crib?

better safe than sorry. Our's is at the lowest it will go beacause kailey has been pulling herself for weeks. We did it in just minutes, (4 wing nuts on mine )because we were running to get her as soon as she woke.
now she pulls herself up, but the top is only up to her chin.

Re: Pulling up on crib?

I needed DH to do it for me and I am generally handy. But it was pretty simple for DH.

ETA: We put it at it's lowest right away because we figured we were better off doing it only once.
