Don't rent one anyone near an airport (even MacArthur) because it's so expensive. Chat Icon

Same! The one in commack is a bunch of crooks. A sprinkler guy hit my car that was parked in front of my moms. Their insurance was paying for everything. Body shop sends us to enterprise. A few days later they call my husband and say they can't get in touch w insurance company to pay the bill can they charge our card? My husband says absolutely not. We return the car a few days later.

A month later I see a charge on my credit card from enterprise. They say it was for th supplemental insurance, even though my contract clearly shows I declined everything. I put in a dispute w my cc company and got refunded. They are horrible! Never again,

If you have a Costco card, go through them.
I saved hundreds when I needed a minivan over the summer. And I had to rent it at JFK.

Sorry you had a bad experience with them too. Ugh.

Usually I can get over just about anything in time, but just thinking about Enterprise puts me into a blind rage. The worst thing about them in my opinion is that you can't ever escalate anything to a higher up. They want to resolve everything at the store level so if you're having a problem with the manager at the store you're pretty much ******. I was trying to find out a regional manager or district manager - corporate - anybody who would listen and no one would. It was so frustrating.

Then one day I was so fed up I ended up calling another enterprise in the area to see if they could maybe help me out. Well while they had me on the phone someone in the background was calling the office and I was having an issue with. And then it just seemed like everyone was in on it, you know .. And my concerns were still not heard.

They owed me hundreds of dollars that they didn't credit to my account And I got to the point where I was calling every day because I kept being jerked around. Finally the manager told me that he would be sure to fix it so he wouldn't have to "entertain my calls every day" and would "do anything he can" to make sure I "never have to speak to him again." Can you imagine the balls? And this is after they ****** up and continually ****** up and that's why I kept calling. It's not like I wanted to call every single day!

There was one reasonable person there and that was it. He kind of offered me I don't know - some discount something off my next rental but I would never ever ever use them again.

I already feel my blood pressure raised right now just thinking about it LOL

Oh you bet I did! I know - he was such a condescending prick. He was the manager too. I had better luck with the asst mgr at the end. I'm usually very nice and patient. But at that point, I was threatening to call the federal trade commission and threatened to call help me Howard.Chat Icon

It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. It just got to the point of being so ridiculous. And not being able to escalate it past store level was insane. You just felt powerless.

Re: Probably will need a rental car this week

Thanks for the information. I was going to use Enterprise because they are conveniently located to my home. However, after reading this, I'll steer clear. Thanks for the heads up.
