Pregnancy with IUI (no meds)

Has anyone had non medicated IUI and conceived? My daughter's dr. recommended IUI with Clomid. They're worried about multiple birth taking Clomid. She has regular periods and ovulates monthly so she was thinking of getting IUI done without meds.

I ovulated on my own and did an IUI with Clomid. We got 2 maybe 3 eggs per cycle and got PG on cycle #2. My RE said that the chance of having multiples on clomid is just under 10%, which for us was pretty low so it really wasn't a concern for us. Good luck to your daughter!

ETA: I am currently pregnant with a singleton.

We did a medicated IUI and conceived just one baby. An RE will monitor your progress closely and tell you approx. how many follicles are of a good size and how many eggs you can expect to release (i've forgotten all the technical terms at this point). I used clomid and a trigger shot and I was given an option when it came time to use it (if i used it on a Friday the RE expected me to release 2 eggs, that saturday 3). He told me it depended on how much of a risk i wanted to take. I triggered that friday and conceived my DS that weekend with IUI (i think they saw that I actually only released one egg).

IUI and meds don't always mean multiples. Don't know much about IUI without meds.

I had 3 iui all with clomid. The first two cycles I had 4 follies. The third cycle I only had 1 follie and it was the cycle I got pg.

I also had a medicated IUI.

I only released one egg each month I was on Clomid (100 mg for 3 months).

Everyone responds differently to it. I was also ovulating on my own - I just had very inconsistent cycles. Some months I had a 22 day cycle the next month a 38 day cycle, the month after a 26 day cylce etc.

you never know how she'll respond to the meds. having clomid and a trigger does help the doctor time the IUI better. she'll be going for monitoring, right?

I had a completely unmedicated IUI and got pregnant on our first try!

ETA - I was so against clomid because I didn't want to run the risk of having multiples.

I've had a total of 4 IUI's -- first two unmedicated and did not conceive. Third was on clomid, conceived singleton but miscarried in the first trimester. Fourth was on clomid, conceived and am now 12 weeks pregnant with one baby. From what I understand, the risk of multiples on clomid is smaller than the risk of multiples using injectable medications.

I did IUI w/ injectable med and got pregnant with twins on round #2. I was never on clomid.

I had an umedicated IUI and got pregnant on my 1st try! I was like a clock with my cycles! Thankfully putting those spun sperm in the right place worked. My dr recommended doing 3 unmedicated IUI's first before moving onto meds.
