POSTPONED: Minivan Caravan: Helping a mom in need. (no minivan necessary)
As some of you may know, one of our moms is leaving a domestic abuse situation. She is moving out of her house, into a place of her own and more importantly into a better life for her & her two sons. (Feel free to applaud, we're very proud of her!)
I'm planning on helping her move as she cannot do it all on her own. If anyone is interested in a "minivan caravan", I suspect we can get it done in one fell swoop if we had enough people. I'm looking for anyone that can help out & meet up this THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25TH.
Because of the nature of her move, no children should be with you. While she has an order of protection & is calling the local precinct for an officer to ensure everyone's safety, this is not a situation where children should be.
If you have any household supplies you'd like to donate, we can arrange for drop-off points.

10/24 update:
I'm waiting to hear from needsadvise. It looks like she may be moving into her new place next week. Originally she was moving her stuff into storage. This will eliminate having to arrange for two moves & the need for her to have to pay storage.
Once I hear from her, we will nail down a date, but pencil in for next week!

Oh! I would absolutely LOVE to- I actually have a van. But I can't this weekened.

I have also told her, I have a bunch of boxes if she needs them.
I will have to see if I can get someone to watch DD on Saturday and make sure I am not babysitting that day, but I would like to help in anyway that I can

She picked up a bunch from my house on Saturday. If you get babysitting, maybe bring them?

I have boxes for her also. I can't help with the move as I am working Saturday...but I can either drop the boxes to you or her.
I also have a couple of small kitchen appliances she can have...
A hand mixer
Toaster

Ugh, I can't help this weekend. I have DD and my step-sons. I would love to be able to help. I have a big truck and DH is a cop and I would have brought him along too. Does she need help any other days??? Also, what does she need?? I will try to get what I can for her.

I can't do Saturday's because DH works and DS has soccer. But please FM me with stuff she may need.
And if bigger items need to be moved, please FM and let me talk to DH about "borrowing" one of his cargo vans.

Just sent her another FM & am awaiting her reply on what she needs & when she needs it.
I want to make sure we don't overwhelm her & have to dump things. I'm not sure how big her place is...
I know she's trying to come up with the last of the deposits to the landlord.

I wish I could. We have nothing to do for weeks, but this weekend I was invited to two things on Saturday.
