how do you pick?
When do you ask them?
Did you ask in a special way?

I asked my sister ( she is my only one, so it was kind of a given), and my husbands best friend.
I have 2 brothers, but they were to young at the time. God forbid something happened to us- they wouldnt eve know how to change a diaper.
I would pick someone that isnt to far away, and that will be an active part in the babies life.

We picked my sister who was also my MOH and we picked his brother who was his BM. We never really asked them they always knew they would be the godparents...when the time came we just told them

For my Son, we picked my brother and SIL
For my Daughter, we picked one my friends and one of my DW's friends
We asked them after the twins were born - didn't want to jinx anything ahead of time. We didn't ask in a special way.
