Pediatrics Ophthalmology-- Dr's Cossari or Marmor.. Anyone use them?

Landon was born with a clogged tear duct and it is just not getting better. My Pediatrician recommended 2 Doctors. Just wanted some feedback to see if anyone has used them.

I know Dr. Cossari is in Port Jefferson not sure about Dr. Marmor.

Thanks

We use Dr. Marmor. We really liked him and his whole office. We have used them for both DDs with different issues and they have been wonderful!

We see Dr. Marmor as well, and aside from ridiculously long waits have had good experiences.

Thanks Ladies. Im just worried since Landon is only 7.5 months old. My Pediatrician said that he might possibly need some sort of needle injection in his eye Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I am freaking out about that since I HATE needles and can't imagine one in the eye.

Have you ladies had to deal with a clogged tear duct or a needle in the eye?

My DD had an ingrown eyelash and she had to have it removed in the office. They have a room where it is done. I was petrified, but honestly, it was over quickly and it seemed worse for me than it was for her.

My nephew was like this for about a year. It was BAD. They also suggested the needle procedure to my sister, but all of a sudden it cleared up on it's own. So you have some time. I *think* they told her to wait about a year to see.

Are you using drops? We're still using them for Lola on one eye.

Also, warm compress and a little massaging on the bridge of the nose close to the eye helps.

they prescribed me with a gel first, then they gave me the drops and I do try to massage it... I guess Im not consistant with it since I dont see any changes.
I'm going to try to be consistant and maybe retry using the drops. I want to try and delay this needle if it really isn't necessary, just sooo scary.

I LOOOVE Dr. Cossari!!

He did my eye surgery when I was 13, you've seen me, can you see a scar? It was a nasty cyst on my eye and I am a keloid healer, no scar AT ALL.

He actually saw my Grandmother too, b/c we loved him so much, he did us a favor and saw her when she was going blindChat Icon Chat Icon

DS has a blocked tear duct. He is 1 1/2 years old. It usually acts up when he is getting sick. I was going to take him to Dr. Marmor but they didn't have an appt. for a very long time when I called and based on a reccomendation of someone on here - I took him to someone in great neck who was wonderful. However, he said they usually give it until 2 years old for the blocked tear duct to clear now, instead of 1 years old. Unfortunately, I think DS is going to have to have it anyways!

marmor is in plainview. we use him for my DD. she's farsighted and has been wearing glasses since she was 7 months old. we've been happy with him. i saw dr. kodsi when my don was litte, i didn't like the office staff there at all. i think she was great neck, or new hyde park... associated to Schneider's.

I brought my son to Dr. Cossari. He was also born with a clogged tear duct. My ped said it usually opens or clears up on its own by 9 months. Now at 1 year it is still closed. Since he was born his eye is always running and when he is getting sick it turns all yellow and crusty. He is going for a probing at the hospital on March 16th with Dr. Cossari. We really like him.

We use Dr. Cossari. My DH had eye cancer as an infant and we take my DD every 3 MOS just to "check" her. I like him very much.

PS. His office manager (she does scheduling for procedures, etc though is a WITCH!!! However, the DR is who is important here, of course!
