Pediatrician in the Douglaston, Floral Park,Lake Success, New Hyde Park Area?
I was told to start looking for one, but I have no idea even where to start.
I do not care if it is a man or woman, but I don't want an office where you have to wait 2 hours to be seen.
Is the interview process necessary?

Before we moved to CT, we used Park Pediatrics. Loved all of the doctors in the practice, they are amazing!

I just started with select pediatrics on Lakeville Rd in NHP, next to LIJ
I go there too. My primary doctor is Dr. Herko and I really like her.
She was recommended by a family member, but my DH and I went to meet her before my DD was born. She's very friendly - like a mom.
If possible, I try to make my appointments early in the day or the last appointment just to minimize wait time. I usually don't wait long, but I'm sure that it depends on the day just like most places.
When DD was a newborn, they take you very quickly and put you in an individual room so that the baby isn't near any sick kids, which I really liked.
Also, the on-call doctors have always been great and call back right away whenever DD has been sick.

I swear by my ped. Arnie Chusid. Hillside Ave in Williston Park. 516.742.4171
It's his solo practice. He works 365 days a year. You get an appointment without any issues. You get a call back from him within an hour if you call for a question.

I have heard wonderful things about Dr Chusid in Williston Park- all the moms on my block use him( including my neighbor who is a RN at Winthrop) and my cousin, I would have used him but he doesn;t accept HIP.
I would seriosly look into him, office next to EW train station,

Interview is not necessary...I met my dr at the hospital when she came to examine dd.

I live in Little Neck and we see Dr. Gerba. I've never had a long wait there and all of the nurses are so sweet with my baby. There are quite a few dr's in the practice, we're seen sveeral and had good experiences with them.

I always feel like they (really more the nurses) indirectly telling me that every decision I make for my DS is a bad one.
I wanted to break up shots so that meant I wanted DS to catch that illness. I rock him to sleep so I was advised to start CIO at 2 months & I said that I won't feel comfortable with that. He started STTN at 2 months but on ocassion woke up once a week or so, I would feed him, Dr told me no, let him cry because he isn't hungry. I said no, I can;t let my 2 month old cry for food in the middle of the night. DS was eating evey 2 hours up until 4 months, Dr told me to let him cry & wait to feed him every 3 hours instead since I was overfeeding him.  more situations like this.
