Parents of kids with food allergies - vacation info

I just wanted to share this. My friend has a dd with severe egg & peanut allergies. They are going to Great Wolf Lodge next week and they have a system in place to handle people with food allergies so she will be able to order food in the restaurant for her dd. She called them and they talked through everything with her, they even have a system in place to eliminate cross-contamination in the kitchen.

She has heard that Atlantis in the Bahamas also has a strict food handling system in place for people with food allergies.

Disney is also excellent with this - they have forms you can fill out and the chef will come to your table and either walk you thru the buffet or discuss the menu with you and make you whatever you need for whatever your issue. They handle every allergy (wheat, milk, nuts, low sodium etc you name it).

I agree Disney was great with this! I also loved that most places had soymilk/ice cream, it was so nice for my DS to be able to have ice cream at dinner instead of always at home! I think places are becoming much more aware and accomodating b/c of the rapid rise in allergies
