Our China Adoption Update
It has been some time since I've posted about our adoption process...as of last week, (July 1st) we have been logged in to the China 'system' for a referral for 2 years. They have matched up to January 25th, 2006 as of this week, so we have 6 months ahead of us (24weeks?) which could take another year of waiting. The referral process has been soo slow, and w/ the olympics coming, it may slow down more until after the games are over.
We did paint the nursery last wkend, and we have started the process for a website at www.mypersonaladoptionwebsite.com. The adoption $ is in the bank, and DH wants to use some for a new paver patio and deck in the backyard (I say 'nope') --- the next year of waitng will be harder for me I think...but it feels like all is falling into place as it is meant to be.

I hope these next 6 months fly by for you. Once you get a referral then how much longer will it take until you get your baby/child?

Once you get the referral - there is a LOA (letter of acceptance) that needs to be completed this is a letter indicating whether you 'accept' the referral (or not), then it could be 6 to 8 weeks until you fly to China for the 2 week visit.

we adopted our daughter from China. We were lucky with a shorter wait back when we did it. I know how hard the wait can be. If you ever need to vent, scream, cry, or just talk, I am here. I wonder if the process will start going a bit faster again after the olympics?

I just saw this now, sorry I missed it before. Hang in there with the remainder of the wait, you have made it this far.
I have been thinking about you from
time to time wondering if you got your baby . Show us nursery progression pics!
