other boards seem dead - asking here - False Negative?

Hey eveyone,

I have a 10 year old DD and have been trying for a year for a second. We've have several early miscarriages. I am 40.

I am 3 days late and just know i'm pregnant, feel pregnant, sick the whole nine years. Or so i thought.

I took a dollar tree test this morning and it was negative.

I am shocked, (I mean my boobs are on fire lol) anyone have that happen and still end up with a BFP?

Yes. I had a false negative the day of my positive blood test. The “baby” is now 7. The false negative rate is real.

I’d get the early response tests from the drugstore. The ones with pink lines have been great at picking up early pregnancies.

Definitely get a First Response Early Results test.
Those are the most accurate.

The dollar store are the least sensitive (so they say) and really great to confirm a positive but also more likely to get a false negative. I'd wait a few days and test again. It's a bit early for any real symptoms so I wouldn't read into it too much.

Yes, I actually purchased a new in box pg test from my local pharmacy. I did not know that it was expired (and sold to me that way, by over two years!!!) It gave me a BFN. I don't know what prompted me, but I looked at the box before throwing it out and realized it was expired. So of course I went back to the pharmacy with the entire thing and got a new one. The new one gave me a BFP (my dd who is 8). They apologized but I was upset they had something like that on the shelves. I called the state and they were audited, because as I said to them then, I did not want to have that happen to someone else.

I actually had a false negative at my first dr appt at 8 weeks! And the reason was, they had the wrong urine in the room!! They brought in the urine of a 70 year old woman who was in the room next door to me!
