orlando stroller rental?

So DH and my parents said last night I don't want to lug a double stroller in the airport so...we should rent one. I hadn't given it any thought but our city mini is old and dh pulled out our stroller bag and it has a hole so we would need a new one. My parents might want me to bring one umbrella one for them in case they keep the girls one night and they won't touch the city mini bc it is heavier than 20 lbs. Oh and we leave in about 2.5 weeks.

So seems there are many different companies but several people I know did well with orlando stroller rental. Should I go with them or is there someone better. I heard apple was cheap but had alot of complaints.

No experience with Orlando, but I used Baby Wheels for the 2nd time this past weekend, and no complaints at all. Very clean, spotless stroller. Waiting for us at check in. Came with the free accessories, and they offer the GT for $10 additional for the entire stay, which is what I needed since my DD is 6.

Also, we only stayed for 4 nights, and most stroller companies had a range price, not a per night price (i.e. 1-3 nights, 4-7 nights). So Baby Wheels worked out to be cheaper than the rest for our stay. Their insurance is also cheaper.

Re: orlando stroller rental?

We just got back and we took advantage of the Apple Stroller promo! IT was great! I paid $21.30 for 4 nights with a single city mini! The stroller was practically new! Very clean! It was waiting for us when we got to the hotel!

I messed up my order originally and the woman I emailed with was great!

I brought my umbrella stroller with me, but DS2 tries to climb out and it makes it hard! plus DS1 is 5 so for half the day he is fine walking, but then after lunch he gets tired. So even with the mixed reviews I was reading about apple, I thought the worst that could happen was that they wouldnt come through and I would go to Target and grab a $20 stroller. But I have NO complaints about using them and would recommend them!

ETA: I have never rented on any of our trips before! But I have to say it was GREAT! I told DH it was one of hte best things we did to make our trip smooth!

PS I also saw a bunch of apple stroller rentals when I was in the parks!

We did also! and to be honest, their strollers all looked the same as the rest of the rental company strollers, so I don't know what the complaints are!

We had a black city min! It still had a tag hanging from it! lol! It looked like all the other ones I saw from Kingdom rentals, orlando magic etc!

I had no complaints and for the price it was a steal!

We just rented from 4/17-4/21

See I saw people saying their rain cover didn't come etc. I'm not sure if they still have the deal. Seems all the places have good and bad reviews. I am thinking maybe the city mini gt might be good for us. Can't believe I am down to like 17 days and deciding this now.

Ours did come with the rain cover, but I didn't use it and it POURED on Sunday, BAD. I ended up using our Disney poncho because it covered more of the stroller (including the parent organizer), and it wasn't suffocating like that rain cover looked when zipped up.

The GT pushes like a DREAM! Not even kidding, it is awesome. My DD is about 47lbs and I could push that thing with one hand. Loved it!

Good to know! My girls are 40 and 44 lbs. The cover zips on? The city mini I have the rain cover doesn't zip but I don't have a gt and mine is from 2009.

The top and bottom of it clip onto the stroller, then the clear portion zips open and closed. I put it in before it started raining to see how it would work. It was hard for her to get in and out of because the zipper sits up a little higher than the foot rest. It was just cumbersome so I didn't bother when it actually started raining.

Sounds like a pain. Was the poncho good enough or did the stroller get wet?

The poncho worked great! Stroller was completely dry. We on the other hand were soaking wet right down to our drenched sneakers in Epcot. It wasn't a fun day!

Re: orlando stroller rental?

Apple should still have the deal. I only booked mine on April 14. You do have to book online to get the promo. We didn't ask for the rain cover so I can't say if it fit. I will say ds1 is over 50lbs and fit in the city mini and was easy to push!

I am so tempted bc it is cheap but I am seeing many reviews of broken strollers with 3 times fixed, no rain covers or other issues. Quick responses but I would prefer to not have to waste trip time fixing things. I wanted to reserve yesterday but still haven't decided.

Re: orlando stroller rental?

We rented a ton of stuff from Traveling Baby-- we are going on Wednesday, so I have no reviews, but they have been pleasant to deal with thus far. We had some issues with the other rentals in determining availability.

Re: orlando stroller rental?

I hate to sound like a dumb dumb, but I just looked on their website. Is there no way to see the total cost before entering your credit card? And also, I don't even own a double stroller at this point. Would the city mini hold my 6 year old? He's 50lbs. I'm thinking of getting the double stroller just for the day we do Disney because we're usually there ALL day. Last year we did Animal Kingdom and DS walked with no complaints. But we were also done with the park by 4:00.

Well the price came up at the bottom of the 1st page for me when I entered my dates and hotel and times. I haven't gone through to the credit card page yet plan to make up my mind today. It might be fine for one day just to rent through disney (which I usually don't recommend). Then you can wait until he gets tired and rent it at that point bc maybe you won 't need it at all. The city mini gt goes to 50lbs a seat. So he should be okay and if you only need a single I think they have the elite which has a higher weight limit than the city mini and gt. .
