OMG. I've had my period for 3 weeks! Is this normal?

Of course, I know it's not normal, I just called my Dr. I went for my 6 week PP appointment on 2/10. He told me to start the pill. I started the pill on 2/12 and got my period the same day...I have had it ever since.

Did anyone else have an extraordinarily long first period after giving birth?

I did! The month I started the pill I had my period for 30.fricken.days.straight. I really didn't think anything of it. I mentioned it to my ob/gyn and he didn't seem concerned. I'm regular now.

ETA: I attributed it to the pill which is why I didn't worry.

I did!!!!!
It lasted for 2 months, I think. Might have been longer.....
I went to the doctor after a month, he wasn't too concerned (of course - it wasn't happening to him!) and gave me some hormones to take. They didn't work, so I eventually started the pill. Which I then stopped after a few months and my period was back to normal.
It was awful!

Did you get start the pill before getting your first period? If so, that is probably the problem - it was for me. I started BC right after my 6 week PP check up and BEFORE my first period. My Dr. first recommended that I stop birth control and restart it at the end of my period, which I did. This didn't work....long story short, I stopped BC all together, I am waiting for my next period and then I will start it again. I am hoping that works!
