Ok...digital cameras.....thinking about getting a new one...HELP

OK....I'd LOVE an SLR but I'm not sure if I'd use it to it's ability...I'm an amateur at best.

The things I want in a digital....

faster shutter speed/picture taking speed....the one I have now seems to take forever to take the pic...I miss all of Aly's expressions.

ease in uploading/printing/sharing

user friendly....I'm not one to read directions too much but will if I have to.

more Megapixels....I think I'm working with 5 right now and that's from 2 years ago.

I just got a Digital SLR because I wanted all the things you are looking for.

I got the Canon Rebel XT (350D) and so far I love it. I am also an amateur and really need to learn how to use it to its potential, but it is so fast I am no longer missing shots.
Quality is great, 8.2 mp, and I was using it out of the box. (another plus is all my lenses from my regular Canon SLR fit the digital)

I already had a Canon Powershot A95 which is great too, but WAY too slow and has 5 or 6 mp. I was missing everything. (not to mention I had just started getting the dreaded E18 error message)
So I already had the Canon software, the XT just upgraded it all.

If you have the money to spend, I would get the SLR.

Check out the Olympus Stylus 720 (shockproof & waterproof)! We took this camera on our honeymoon and our pictures came out amazing... great quality!!!

I used to work for olympus and just seeing first hand how great their cameras are I wouldn't buy anything else!
