Okay i went shopping for maternity clothes yesterday...
And was so shocked at the prices. I went to Babystyle and they had a cotton shirt that literally is the same material of what you get at Old Navy and it was $68!!! Me and DH almost fell on the floor.
Mimi Maternity was not much better. We stopped at Old Navy and i got some great weekend wear but I am dreading work clothes so i brought the belly band and hope that will let me last a couple more weeks.
I was totally bummed when i got home, but then i started looking online and saw that motherhood maternity has some nice stuff that is at least decently cheap. So i am going to try there next week.

Sorry to crash on this board, but when I was pregnant with my son I got a lot of great clothes at motherhood maternity and the prices were good. I think Target also has a great maternity line now. They didn't come out with it till after my son was born, though.

Yes, try Target. Last time I went they didnt have too much selection, but the stuff they had was nice.

Motherhood maternity always has sales, definitely try there. Also, I don't know where you live, but the Marshall's in Stony Brook now has a great maternity section.

Try Maternity Works too. There's one in at the Riverhead outlets and there's another at the Source in Westbury. They have pretty good prices and I've found the best stuff there

I found jeans and a pair of black pants at Marshalls. Today I went to Target and got 5 shirts for $60. Definitely try there.

i got a lot of stuff this weekend too. lots on clearance in target, 2 shirts and a dress from kmart on clearance for $6.50, a few things from old navy, motherhood in macys, and my jcpenny internet order came in. NO MORE TIGHT PANTS FOR ME!!!

My one thing I cannot wait for is to wear regular clothes again--I had such a hard time finding nice things. I shopped a lot at destination maternity by Walt Whitman.

go on e bay!!! I have found so many nice things - all new with tags on them - for great prices. less than half the regular price. I got old navy maternity jeans for less than $20 a pair with shipping! check it out.

you should check out e-bay, I got some good, brand new with tags stuff from there and people asked me all the time where I got it from...

I'm an attorney, so I needed some really nice work maternity clothes. Believe it or not, I bought most of my stuff on Ebay. There are a few vendors who sell brand new gap, mimi maternity, etc, with tags, for much, much cheaper. In the search line, enter something like "gap maternity nwt career" and it should bring up some stuff... (NWT means "new with tags")

Thanks for all the advice. I am a little hesitant to buy pants online just because i am pretty tall and have an issue with some pants and length, but who knows....i will probably try anything down the road.

I was finding the same thing you did and I ended up finding trousers at JC Penney for $19.99 which have lasted me the whole pregnancy so far (I'm at 30 weeks now) and for that price I went ahead and bought them in three different colors so b/w the black, brown and gray, I can put them on with my pre-preggo suit blazers and no one but me knows that they're not a suit! It worked out great. I also bought a pair at Gap and at maternity works, but the Penney's pants ended up being the ones that I wear all week long and were the most affordable and best of all they're machine washable! They should still have them at the stores.

I got these jeans from ebay:
They're the Gwyneth Paltrow style jeans and are sooo cute and comfy! They're also long in the leg (I think the inseam is like 34").
There's a Buy It Now price of $19.99! Original price is something crazy, like $140.
Just search for Childish maternity jeans.

I also wanted to let all you ladies know that certain Fashion Bugs carry maternity clothes, too. They always have GREAT clearance, and very stylish clothes. The quality is not the greatest, but it will last you your pregnancy. I think the one in Islandia and the one in Middle Island have a maternity section. I want to go today and see waht they have. I remember looking at all their maternity stuff before I was preggo and thinking how cute all their stuff was.
