okay.... anyone else addicted to the noise of their air conditioner??
DH and I tried to sleep w/ the windows open last night and I swear I mustve slept a total of a half hour all night! All I kept hearing were CRICKETS and NOISES... UGH... it was driving me CRAZY! Then some stupid person was lighting those crackling fireworks on the next block at like 3:30AM! At that point, I shut the window and turned the AC on and I  like a baby the rest of the night!!
HOW AM I EVER GONNA SLEEP WITHOUT THE AC NOISE?!?!?!

Yes. Your definitely not the only one. I'm one who loves the sound of fans and air conditioners. I sleep with a fan all year round just because I like the noise, I have issues but it's the only thing that puts me to sleep!

me me me me i can not do it,,,i sleep with the ac in the winter b/c i really cant take the quietness... my suggestion---by a white noise machine, its about 35-50 bucks, i got mine in jcpenny..it basically mimicks the noise of the ac

That is exactly my husband! We have to sleep with a fan on in the winter! I freeze but he can't sleep without it.
We can't even get central air because it's not loud enough for him!

and we do have centrl air but it doent make any noice so he HAS to have the fan on....
i hate the fan on!

I have to have white noise, all year round. everyone loves to pick on me  but I can't sleep without a fan on.

you know what I use? one of those el cheapo air cleaners from B,B&B. I think it was $20, the whole unit plugs right into the wall.

Yes - it really does work. It doesn't seem like its that loud but somehow it blocks out everything.

That's funny because my central air isn't loud enough for me either, my DH wants to kill me!!!!

YES.....I had to sleep with it on until atleast November when I lived at my mothers house..I needed the noise and it was also noisy where I used to live..she wanted to KILL me...sometimes I had to wait until she went to bed and then wake up before she got up so she didn't know it was on...Our apartment now is in a less nosy place

I can't sleep without my white noise machine! We originally got it to drown out hubby's snoring, but now even when I travel I bring it. It is 100% addicting!!
