Re: *****Official May 2014 Mommies Thread*****

I'm 30 weeks along, baby will be born via C-section around 5/14 but my due date is 5/21. I'm a high risk, Lovenox (blood thinner) gal who also suffers from "Advanced maternal age". I'm 40, geriatric on the maternity floor - LOL.

I've been sick lately and have had a very eventful/stressful pregnancy. Hoping the last few weeks get better. This is my third and final baby, tubes will be tied after this one. My other 2 DD's are very excited about meeting their new baby sister in a few weeks.

I have nothing prepared, nothing at all. LOL. Baby will be taking over my older daughter's room, my older daughter will move into what was my office but I can't paint or rip up the rug or move the furniture for some time yet. Baby and I will be in the den until I can use the stairs. I have considered what snacks I will bring to the hospital to keep me sane... that's something, right? I created a baby registry since I donated a lot of my stuff to a friend who lost everything in Hurricane Sandy. Also some of my stuff is no longer useable. My sister is throwing me a "sprinkle", like a mini baby shower. My kids are so psyched about that. I know some people might think its tacky, but I think my girls want to celebrate with people they care about. I feel huge and uncomfortable. LOL.

I'm 31 weeks, was recently diagnosed with GD (but I had it with the last pregnancy). My goal is to keep our weight at a healthy balance, so I can deliver vaginally as I did last time. The diet sux, but our little miracle will be worth it! The plus is I get a sono each week, so I get to see him a lot. He's kicking me tons and tons.

The car ride part does not sound enjoyable. I am not sure how important the trip is but maybe play it by ear? See how you feel in April? You will be 9 months pregnant by then so it might be rough. Chat Icon Sorry just being honest.

I wouldn't. We were planning on going on vacation next month but my doctor advised me not to travel.
Six hours in a car just sounds painfuL!

As of right now I still feel amazing. I am still exercising daily and working 2 jobs.. BUT this is my first pregnancy and I have no idea what to expect 4-5 weeks from now. I don't know if suddenly things may change.
My doctor said there is no medical reason that I can't travel.. soooo without that medical note I am sort of stuck.

I was just thinking about a coming home outfit!! We're Team Chat Icon so I'm trying to figure out something neutral. I was thinking of a short sleeve onesie with a zip up hoodie. Or I might just do a sleep and play (like what my DS came home in).

Do you have any of your DD's old outfits you could use? And then you just have to boy a boy outfit?
As I was looking at gender neutral outfits on the computer last night I kept thinking about that! Then I thought, I could maybe get a headband for a girl.

Hi girls!!

I can't believe my countdown actually says 48 days!! Chat Icon Chat Icon I do feel like the past few months flew by, even with this crazy miserable winter!

I've been sick with the flu last week, and it was just awful! I don't remember the last time I was so so sick, I really didn't think I would ever heal... I also started getting bad carpal tunnel at night! My right wrist is just in constant pain that wakes me up and I have to put an ice pack just to numb it so I can go back to sleep. Going to start wearing a night wrist band tonight and hopefully it'll get better!

My shower is in less than two weeks and I'm super excited! Then the following week, I am to finish prepping DD's side of the kids room (she'll be sharing a room with my 3 yo DS), sorting clothes and packing the hospital bag! It's really the home stretch now, and again I can't even believe it's so close Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I wouldn't get a separate shirt and pants outfit because of the umbilical cord. I tried not to put anything with a rubber band in that area on DS until it healed and started showing signs of falling off.

Here is a link to the outfit I'm getting DD (I'm due the first week of May), which is a replica of DS' take home outfit but in pink Chat Icon Chat Icon
I really recommend the one piece option

I really don't think, even the end of May is warm enough to just bring them out in a short sleeve outfit, a light long sleeve is the way to go IMO.

OK I officially feel PREGNANT!!!!!

I am exhausted all the time and that's with getting a good 7-8 hours a sleep a night. Granted I wake up about 3-4 times to go to the bathroom and from the carpal tunnel pain, but still...

Today is just the worst! My back hurts, my stomach is pulling and I barely made the 10 min walk from the subway to the office Chat Icon

I really hope this is not how it's gonna be for the next 6 weeks Chat Icon Chat Icon

Ever since I started the third trimester I have definitely started to feel pregnant! This baby moves around non-stop, which I love, but it makes sleeping and getting comfortable very difficult!

Do you feel more uncomfortable this time around? I deff remember feeling this way a little closer to the end with DS, deff not at 34 weeks...

Re: *****Official May 2014 Mommies Thread*****

I'm having the c section around 5.14. I feel like crap to be perfectly honest. This is my third and by far worst pregnancy. Don't think I'm sleeping for the next 8 weeks.

Anyway, I'm using the same coming home outfit I used with my other girls. It was a 3 piece carters outfit with a short sleeve side snap top and also comes with a long sleeved side snap top. The pants are separate and are footed. There was never an umbilical cord issue either time. The feet part of the pants keep them from moving up. Not sure what they sell anymore. I'm using only hand me downs since none of my kids stayed in NB size more than a week or 2.

The comfort level is about the same...but I definitely notice more pain in my back! I'm guessing that's from carrying around a 23lb toddler and working full time!
Overall, this entire pregnancy has actually been 10 times easier. I guess because the first two trimesters were so easy, now that I'm actually starting to feel pregnant it's an adjustment.

This is my second and I def feel worse this time! Not that anything is wrong, but it is just harder. I don't sleep as much, I am in pain all the time and need a break (and don't really get one unfortunately). Last time, around this time, I was working summer school and had the rest of the day to put my feet up and relax. I was way more swollen last time though! But I think I have gained more weight this time :( My section is scheduled for the 22nd but I really don't think I am going to make it that far. I have decided my last week of work will be May 9th!

Hi all! New month, new updates!!!!!

I officially have 30 days to go to my original due date Chat Icon But I highly doubt I'll make it to the end. I am high risk so they will start talking induction at 39 weeks anyway, but I am also showing signs of hypertension with sky high BP :( No symptoms of PreE yet and I feel pretty much fine, but the BP thing is very worrisome. Last night it went as high as 170/100 when I tested at home. Have an appointment on Tuesday, and we'll see what they say. My last day at work is today and them I'm going to be working from home on partial bedrest. Just need to make it 10 more days to 37 weeks and I'm good. Just 10 more days!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I have my 36 week appt this afternoon and can not wait! At my last appt 2 weeks ago, I found out Baby had turned breech Chat Icon. I've been doing everything I can to turn this baby around since then. I'm hoping for good news today. I'm also having my first internal today! Can't believe how close it's getting!! After today, I'll start weekly appts! Physically, I'm feeling really good, albeit a little tired. Hope everyone else is doing well!
