Neighbor's Dog Poop

So I was walking my new dog in the backyard today and while walking my property line fence, i noticed a big stack of poop that is underneath my fence. What it looks like is that they are dumping in on their side in a pile and b/c of the 6 inch space underneath my fence it is now a pile on my side too. They are the neighbors behind me. It the middle of winter and I won't see them until spring at least. But is really kinda disturbing me b/c the dog keeps sniffing there and this dog (eww) likes to EAT his poop and apparently the other dog's poop too. Should I wait for this neighbor until spring time or B, go to the next street and knock on his door. I would clean it up and that be that until spring but i fear they will continue piling it there.

As a dog owner whose dog also does poop in our yard, I would definitely go and talk to them about it...its kind of disgusting. I always make sure that my dog's poop is cleaned up on daily basis.

Re: Neighbor's Dog Poop

We have a "wonderful: neighbor that 1st was having her dog poop down the blcokat one of the bus stops so the kids would get off the bus and steep in her dogs poop so the guy that owns the corner house said something. Next place is our corner where there is also another bus stop..so my husban asked nicly to pick up the poop... so she moved to right next door to her own house so one day my DH took her dog poop and put it buy her car door ( she had her dog poop right in front of someone's passenger door) She is still having her dog poop there. And This is right next door to her own house. Just pick it up already!!!!

Re: Neighbor's Dog Poop

Yes, I would go ahead and knock and say something. From what it sounds like they may not even be aware that it is making its way to your side of the fence. I would approach it in an "I'm sure you have no idea and I feel bad having to point it out but my dog is a poop eater, so..." way. That way they can fix it and you don't seem like the bad guy. If they still don't then you have the opportunity to escalate it to the next level if need be.
