Natural gas

Anyone have?
It's for everything- dryer, HW, heat, everything.
Just curious what to expect for a monthly bill.
I can't ask the seller.
the house is real small.
Just a ballpark would be great.
Thanks in advance!

This is what we have for everything...last bill was $475!!! I know it is a lot but it was cold and I like to keep the house warm......

You should be looking at around $150-200 a month..

Re: Natural gas

120 last month for the whole house, but it is only for heating (house and water). You can ask Keyspan when you call to change the bill over. They told us to expect 120 when we changed over and they were right on track.

We have a decent sized house and cathedral ceilings. 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths...

We have gas for heating and cooking only - not for our dryer - and our bill has been $330 a month for January and February. It's about a 1/3rd of that in the Summer.

ETA: Our house is 3 bed/2 bath and approx. 1800 sq. ft.

Re: Natural gas

In our townhouse we paid about $130 a month for a 2bed 1.5 bath. But we also had cathedral ceilings which is harder to heat.

Re: Natural gas

keep in mind you can do a budget bill for your utilities, so you pay 12 months a year the same amount so it balances out when you have colder nights vs the hot ones in the summer.

Re: Natural gas

We have natural gas. Our payment is only about 80.00 a month.

We have a 3/bed 2/bath home. Also, about 1800 square feet.

I do know we are on a budget and every year we get a check back from Keyspan.

We have natural gas for our central forced air heating, and our water tank. Our stove is electric... Our last bill was $288 and I am home with the kids so I always keep it warm here. It has been as high as $440 a month, but that was last winter. This witner wasn't nearly as bad.

ETA: our house is 1880 sq. ft.

I live in Islip. I have no idea why there is such a discrepancy. Maybe it has to do with the heating system.

I know I have oil - we have a 2 zone heat. The temp is kept at 64 all day while at work. Once home, the downstairs is at 67 while the upstairs is 64 and then it flips at 10pm when we head upstairs to go to bed.

We pay $180/month.

Re: Natural gas

we have it for everything including a HW heater & our bill is roughly $200 a month. We however, have a working fireplace that heats our whole house, so I think our numbers are lower than most.

Same here. Our house is 1800K square ft cape, 3BD/2 full baths w/cathedral ceilings. Our bill over the winter was $275-375. We are getting new windows put in because our windows are old and leak out the heat. Chat Icon

my old townhouse was about 1400sq ft with high ceilings, it has gas for everything but the dryer. I was on the keyspan budget for $120 a month. A couple of years I got a smal credit for under usage.

How do you get a check back? Keyspan always credits our bill when there is an overage in payment at the end of the year.

I have gas heat and my budget plan bill is $77 a month. I live in a 2 story townhouse that's about 1200 sq feet with a loft upstairs and cathedral ceilings so the heating is very inefficient.
