my throat is killing me and i feel overall like crapppp
Is there anything I can take over the counter that can help? I don’t even know if I should bother going to the dr because can I even have anything prescribed?

My dr told me I could take sudafed without the pseudophedrine in it. Feel better!

I've been sick this past week with a killer cold. I took Tylenol cold and natural cough drops! It def. took a little longer to start to feel better, but it's working! The only thing that s*cked was the congestion!

Oh no feel better
I was told to use plain ricolo cough drops, gargle with salt water, and take 1 extra strength tylenol.

I feel your pain! I gargled with warm salt water every hour and that seemed to help. My dr also told me benadryl, but that didn't and chlor-trimeton. The chlor-trimeton actually worked pretty well and allowed me to get some sleep (when I wasn't busy peeing).

Oh feel better. I just had something like that for a WEEK and am just getting over it. .
natural/homeopathic things that help
- gargle with salt water
- add a bunch of turmeric to boiling water and steam over it
- do a saline nasal rinse (either neti pot or they have bottles which I find easier to use)
- ginger and lemon tea (with honey if you haven't been told not to eat it)
FEEL BETTER!

I've been fighting off a nasty head cold and the OB's office said I could use Vick's vapor rub which has given me some relief.

This is my 2nd cold during pregnancy! Right now I am taking Mucinex DM and that helps a lot with bringing up the chest congestion. I also use the neti pot, do eucalyptus vapor inhalations and tylenol for the rib pain I feel from the intense couging. I would definitely call the ob and ask what you can take. You also want to make sure there is no infection, b/c of sore throat.
