My ring is welded to my finger!

UGH! I didn't realize it had gotten so bad. Last night I tried to take them off for the first time in months and could not with the help of DH and 10 different solutions.
So I decided to wait til this morning since I'm less swollen in the morning.
20 minutes later I had gotten the e ring off but my band was stuck around my knuckle - finger completely purple and tingling in it - I thought I would need my neighbor's help b/c DH wasn't home.
I called him at work and he calmed me enough to wiggle it down - but holy sh!t that was painful!!
What else can I try?
I'm 37 wks and expect to go vaginally as I have done 2x already but god forbid I need a section, I wanted the rings off.
I tried butter, cold water, hair conditioner, olive oil...

I don't know what else to tell you to try, but the same exact thing happened to my SIL. They had to cut it offChat Icon . Of course she wasn't thrilled, but the doctor said it wad really for her safety since she was getting little to no blood circulation. She went vaginally also, but it didn't matter. Doc was like these rings (her engagement and wedding band) are coming off now. I believe it happened also at 37w for her.

I was so scared to death of this, I took my rings off at 12w and bought a bigger size (a fake band). GL!

Try using ice cubes and rubbing them on your finger for a good bit of time to get the finger to shrink (probably will hurt like heck as your finger goes numb hehe)......then try using lotion to slide them off once your finger shrinks....

thats all i got :(

that's what i was going to suggest, puttting your finger in a bowl of ice water tomorrow AM then trying olive oil.

This is probably what I would do. Good luck!

Re: My ring is welded to my finger!

try raising your hand over your head for 15 to 30 min and see if that reduces the swelling enough to slip them off. (my sis said she had to do this as she swelled up pretty bad at the end of her pregnancy)

I was going to suggest ice, too! hopefully gets the swelling down and maybe you can avoid salt today too and drink lots of water to flush out some retained water. Chat Icon it comes off

I would try the ice to try to reduce any swelling at all. It should also numb the knuckle a bit too.

Also, don't pull the ring straight off.

Wiggle the ring bit by bit by tilting the front forward and then the back, etc. This helps the ring release if it is too tight to pull it straight.

My ering is pretty tight already and some days when I am over heated/swollen, the ring is tight and this is how I get it off. This was before I was pregnant.

I know this is going to sound strange but my jewler said to spray windex on the back of your finger. My cousin tried it and the ring slipped right off.
