My Princess Pyxie is so sick. (Update: She's gone over the Rainbow Bridge)
I have not been on this board in a while, but my precious baby girl is very, very sick. She has Evan's Syndrome, which is an AutoImmune disease. Her white blood cells think that her red blood cells are viruses, and are attacking them. We took her to a very reputable vet for treatment (transfusions and meds) but it does not look like it is working. Had we caught it sooner, she may have had a better chance.
My poor sweet girl is in a hospital bed, with tubes all over her. She has just gotten her 3 transfusion in 2 days. If this one does not take, then we will have to stop treatment, and say good bye. She is only just over 5 years old...I am so sad and overwhelmed with this that I can barely function. The thought of going to work tomorrow is just ridiculous, and I hate that I cannot see her at all.
Thanks all for letting me vent. I have had to stay strong for my little boy, who keeps asking where Pyxie is hiding
UPDATE: Thank you everyone for your prayers and hugs. They truly mean so much. Although she seemed to be holding the last transfusion, her liver went into complete failure, and we had to make the most difficult decision ever. She stopped eating, could not hold any water (she was completely dehydrated despite being on fluids 24/7), and was not fighting - not even a littleBut I asked her to let me know it was OK. From a completely vapid & catatonic state, she took her paw & put it on my hand, licked my hand, and then put her head down to go to sleep. I kissed & hugged her & told her how much I loved her, and then we said our last goodbye.
Thank you all again for your thoughts and hugs. They have truly helped through the past few days.
