do you have a gas dryer, heat and gas stove?
What do you keep the temp on?
We have a 2 zone house and our bills are never over $330 a month. (we also have a gas dryer but not the stoves) We keep each level no higher than 68-70 and during the day, when we arent home, it drops down to 60.
We got a new programable thermostat, so that we arent playing with the temp...it stays at a constant temp.

Uh oh, we didn't get ours yet. I posted about the horror of our bill last month.
And I love when I called them about something other than the bill and I was on hold (for 22 minutes  ) I had to listen to a dumb recording saying "we can't control the price of gas and no one can control the weather..."  OK, but if I am paying over $500 a month on gas, can't someone answer my call in under 20 minutes?!?!?!
OK, vent over.

please, we freeze our AZZ off in our house, because I won't let hubby turn the heat up over 65, and we also have 500 dollar bills....it's just Too much!

Does someone come each month and read your meter?
We had an extremely high gas bill the other month and my DH called. They said every 4th of the month to call in our actual gas reading.

Our gas bill was 580 this month
Its redic but what other choice do we have
We keep the heat at 70/71
i don't do a ton of cooking, and i don't do tons of laundry either
its just been really cold out
Gas is defin not cheaper than oil
We also have 13 zones of Heat as well, and we keep it off in the rooms we do not use
